The Training Program
The training takes place at Mountainside Ministry Center located near Libby, Montana from February through May or late August through mid-December. You will take a variety of Bible, missions and ministry skills classes that are scheduled in a modular style. These concentrated courses allow you to focus on one primary subject and facilitate the use of visiting instructors who have exceptional expertise in their fields of study or ministry. These classes are enhanced by personal character development, relationship building, and practical application. The unique living atmosphere, along with outreach projects and other ministry opportunities, helps everyone learn to love and minister effectively. One of the outreach projects will take place overseas.
The Missionary Internship
Following the training, each intern will do a twelve-month missionary internship. Most interns will serve with IM in Central and Eastern Europe. It is also possible for interns to serve in North America or we can partner with other mission organizations to place people in other areas of the world. The interns will serve as part of a team along side a veteran missionary. You are not required to speak a foreign language. Some of the ministry opportunities you may be involved in are: Evangelistic English Camps, discipleship, teaching English as a second language, children’s ministry, Gypsy ministry, youth ministry, relationship evangelism, small group Bible studies, preaching, church planting, drama and music.
Evaluation and Debriefing
Following the internship you will be guided through a process of evaluating your experience and ministry. You will take time to reflect on what you have learned and prayerfully consider how God is leading you regarding your future ministry. Many interns choose to continue in full-time mission work.
Program Costs
This program provides a strategic vehicle which enables the local church to equip and send missionaries from their fellowship. We believe this is an excellent investment of mission funds and we encourage the sending church to provide up to 50% of the support needed by the “missionary intern.” The entire cost of the program can be raised as mission support, however, this is not required. The support should be raised for about 18 months. Mountainside Missionary Training is committed to keeping this experience as affordable as possible and will provide help and training in raising prayer and financial support.
Basic Cost
Individuals - $4,000 total* (additional costs for children)
Couples - $7,500 total* (additional costs for children)
*Can be paid in 5 equal installments.
This includes: lodging, food, all training expenses, living and ministry expenses during the training.
An estimated amount of $2500.00 per person will also be needed for air travel and overseas setup costs.
