Faith Stories
31 July 2010 in UncategorizedDeuteronomy 4:9: “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them” (NIV).
It is amazing how quickly we can forget or dismiss the ways God has been faithful to us. We become distracted, self-sufficient, or focused on a new trial. God knows our human tendencies and that is why He asks us to actively remember His blessings. He even takes it one step further by instructing us to share these stories with our children. Children learn from example. If parents model a faith that is alive and real, it will have incredible influence on them.
Ephesians 6:16 talks about taking up the shield of faith to defend against the evil one. Your family’s shield of faith will be built on stories of God’s faithfulness and provision.
